Rebeka joined us in July and has proven to be a great asset to our team…she even survived her first Coat Sale! Growing up she attended Maine Endwell School District and later went to Broome Community College. While getting her degree at BCC she began working for Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in Johnson City and fell in love with the company. After graduation and with the help of a mentor, she was able to turn her part-time job into a career. Rebeka quickly became a store manager and got a store of her own to run in Ithaca. She and her boyfriend recently bought a house just outside Ithaca, and in the same month had their first child!
“I loved working in a big retail store but a few weeks into being a mom, I realized that my priorities had changed. I needed to be home every night to take care of our daughter, and that’s when Mama Goose was introduced into my life. I have never been happier!” -Rebeka
Rebeka says that working in a mama-oriented environment has helped her become less clueless as a new parent. She has learned a lot from coworkers and customers and is now an avid user of many of our new products. She says she’s enjoying working for a locally-owned small business – and we at Mama Goose have already seen her ideas and decisions have a positive impact on the store.
“Also, who doesn’t like looking at babies all day! I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity and excited to see what the future has in store for me at Mama Goose.”
Be sure to welcome Rebeka to the Mama Goose family, we are so glad she’s here!
