No Buy July at Mama Goose & Jillian’s Drawers

What is No Buy July?
We will be taking a month-long pause from buying in items for both stores.

That’s such a long time! Why?
We want to take this time to use our resources and people-power to prepare the Community Room to open in the fall! The Community Room and the classes and gatherings we’ve held there in the past are an integral part of our mission and goals as a business. We’re looking forward to welcoming you into that space again!

Oh no! My family is moving in July and I was planning to bring in our items before we left! Now what?
Please contact us via phone or email! We will be able to make special arrangements for families that are moving on a case-by-case basis.

When will you start buying again?
We will begin buying again on August 2, at which time we will be buying fall and winter items.

Can I still bring in summer items before the buying pause?
Yes! We will still be accepting summer items through June 30. Please visit the How to Sell page for more details

We appreciate all the love & great goods y’all are bringing in to us, but we need some catch-up time! It’ll take us a week to catch up; thanks for your patience! Buying-in used items will resume on June 7. We’ll be open for business as usual otherwise

Buying Pause

We’re taking a buying pause April 11 – 18

Due to a variety of events in the lives of our staff, we are a bit short on manpower this week. In order to best serve our customers, we will not be taking any walk-ins or additional appointments this week. Standing appointments will still be honored. We will begin our regular buying again on Tuesday, April 19.

A brief pause on intake

 
We’ve had a ton of great clothing and gear coming in lately! So much, in fact, that our intake area is overflowing and we need a little extra time to process everything and get it out onto the floor for you.
We’re taking a buying pause December 23 – January 10
The last day to bring in your items will be Wednesday, December 22. This pause is to allow us to catch up on the items we have already received, get through the holidays, and do our annual inventory. We will not be taking any appointments, walk-ins, or drop offs during these dates. We will resume buying your gently-used items on January 12. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We’re Taking a Brief Intake Intermission

We’ve had a ton of great clothing and gear coming in lately! So much, in fact, that our intake area is overflowing and we need a little extra time to process everything and get it out onto the floor for you.

We’re taking a pause from buying in items from November 25 through December 1.

This pause will allow us to catch up on the items we have already received and focus on the upcoming holiday sales. We will not be taking any appointments, walk-ins, or drop offs during these dates. We will resume buying your gently-used items on December 2. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Want to sell with us? We’re taking walk-ins!

Beginning today, July 1, we’ve updated our buying process.

In order to best serve our customers and make sure we are properly staffed and prepared, we have a new buying process broken down into three tiers. Here’s a brief run-down of what those tiers look like. For all the details, visit our How To Sell page.

  1. Walk-in Selling2 standard grocery-size bags or less
    You can walk in with 2 standard grocery tote bags or less from 10-5pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and sell on the spot!

  2. On-the-Spot Selling2 large tote storage bins or less
    For larger loads, we will still take appointments but will look through your items on the spot while you remain in the store. Please call or text us to book an on-the-spot selling appointment for your larger load at 607-216-7851.

  3. Large Gearplease check in with us
    We can accept these items in as walk-ins, however we ask that you text us a photo or call to check in with us about them ahead of time. This will allow us to confirm our interest, which can vary depending on demand, condition, current inventory, etc. Call or text us at 607-216-7851.

We are excited to once again offer quicker turnaround time on buying in your fabulous items! Thank you for your patience as we have navigated through buying during the pandemic and moving our locations. Our buying procedures directly affect our staffing and we appreciate your patience during this transition!

Want to get a selling appointment sooner?

We’re now buying in the following items with quicker appointment times:
• Rain boots
• Sandals & water shoes
• Nursing tanks & shirts
• Rainwear
Beginning Thursday, March 25, you can make an appointment to bring in one shopping bag (such as a standard reusable Wegman’s shopping bag) of these items and either drop it off or have it done on the spot! 

Please call/text 607-216-7851 for an appointment time. 

These appointments are available Tuesdays-Saturdays (not on Sundays or Mondays).
