We’re taking a buying pause!

No Buy January at Mama Goose & Jillian’s Drawers

What is No Buy January?
We will be taking a month-long pause from buying in items for both stores.

That’s such a long time! Why?
We want to take this time to use our resources and people-power to catch up on all the goodies already dropped off, balance inventory, and tackle other tasks in store!

When will you start buying again?
We will begin buying again on Feb. 1, 2024, at which time we will be buying in limited winter clothing items and other gear. We encourage you to give us a call to schedule an appointment for February!

Updated Selling Protocols for 2023!

As many of you have seen, we are getting so many items in from our wonderful community that we run out of space and can’t keep up a good pace! We are constanly reassessing best practices so that our sellers experience a timely and smooth experience.

For 2023, we are operating as follows:

We buy Tuesday – Saturday, with the exception of the last 7 days of each month. We do not buy on Sundays and Mondays (please no drop-offs on Sunday/Monday and the final 7 days of the month; this will be our regular catch-up time). We are experiencing a very high volume of sellers; thank you for your patience. Drop-offs will be taking us 1-2 weeks to get to.

Want to get a selling appointment sooner?

We’re now buying in the following items with quicker appointment times:
• Rain boots
• Sandals & water shoes
• Nursing tanks & shirts
• Rainwear
Beginning Thursday, March 25, you can make an appointment to bring in one shopping bag (such as a standard reusable Wegman’s shopping bag) of these items and either drop it off or have it done on the spot!

These appointments are available Tuesdays-Saturdays (not on Sundays or Mondays).

Share the Warmth!

We are proud to partner with Ithaca Rotary’s Share the Warmth clothing drive again this year by serving as a drop-off location!

All winter clothing in good repair is accepted. There is a special need for children’s and larger-sized outerwear (2X and up) and large-sized boots (13 and up), as well as coats, snow pants and boots; blankets; and hats, scarves, and mittens for all. Each article of clothing donated should be new or gently
used, and clean for future recipients.

The donated clothing is then distributed by Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga free of charge to individuals who need such items for the winter months. Distribution will take place November 9 – 20. Last year, the program distributed more than 3,067 items to 753 adults and
514 children across Tompkins County.

You’ll find the familiar “red box” collection bin at our store until November 23!
